This is the 1982 Limited Editions Club issue of Ray Bradbury's science fiction classic "Fahrenheit 451," a 152 page (plus xx), 7"x11" hardcover illustrated by Joseph Mugnaini. Two thousand numbered copies were printed, signed by both the author and artist on the limitations page. Twenty-six of these are "out of series" presentation copies as indicated by a blindstamp under the signatures, typically numbered A-Z and reserved for relatives and friends of the author and illustrator, or LEC staff; this copy has the blindstamp but no number. The Monthly Letter of the Limited Editions Club (Series 46, Vol. 4) is laid in.

Joseph Mugnaini frequently collaborated with Bradbury, beginning in 1952, and here contributes a four-color lithograph frontispiece and three fold-out tryptychs.

The book is in very good condition, with no dust jacket (as issued), in the original slipcase. The boards, bound in heavy aluminum foil, show several tiny indentations to the edges and front, creasing along the hinges, various minor scuffs and spots - nothing too egregious, considering the LEC felt the need to include a card warning the binding is fragile (card no longer present here). There are a couple small pencil marks to the first flyleaf, another to the last, and the limitations page is bent at the bottom corner. The slipcase shows rubbing and edge wear, small scratches and spots.
