Complete vintage set of THE COLLECTED WRITINGS OF THOMAS DE QUINCEY. New and enlarged edition, edted by David Masson. Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1890. Each volumes is in very good shape with all pages present; bindings are solid and tight; pages are crisp and supple; covers are clean. A previous owner (decades ago) wrapped each volume in plastic and taped the plastic in places to the front/rear pastedowns. These covers are removable, but I'll leave that up to the buyer to decide. The plastic looks to have protected the original red cloth bindings nicely. The previous owner apparently was a professor, scholar, or student as each of the volume includes occasional scholars' notes in pencil. These would be easily erasable; but again, I'll leave that up to the buyer to decide as many of the notes add nice contextual information to the text and may be desirable. Many pages are without any notes and are absolutely clean, but others contain notes of some sort (again, all in pencil and easily erasable). Please see pictures for overall condition of the set.
