Disclaimer

I source my individual materials and hardware from numerous suppliers. Whilst every effort has been made to test and verify suitability, I cannot be held responsible for any incidents or accidents as a result of hardware failure and or incorrect fitting.

I recommend that the finished product is checked on a regular basis for defects/wear and tear. I also recommend reading the below fitting instructions to ensure maximum safety.

By purchasing my collars, the purchaser accepts all responsibility for any incidents, accidents or loss, whatever the nature.

How do I fit a Martingale Dog Collar correctly?

Simply slip the collar over the dogs head and adjust the slide to fit the width of your dogs neck.

When the D ring is pulled on, the control loop will start to close, however the two pieces of hardware on this loop should NOT touch, if they do, then the collar is too loose or you have purchased the incorrect size for your dog. These pieces of hardware should be approx two inches apart when the control loop is pulled together.

A correctly fitted martingale collar should not have the second loop dangling.

What is a Martingale Dog Collar?

A martingale is a type of dog collar that provides more control over the animal without the choking effect of a slip collar.

They are very useful for use on Sighthounds (Greyhounds, Lurchers, Salukis, Whippets etc.) due to these breeds having similar head/neck sizes, therefore standard collars can slip off or they can back out of them. However these collars can be used on most other breeds too.
