* * * Vintage Unusual 18th Century Felling Axe  * * * 

   Offered is a rarely found Primitive cast iron Blacksmith Forged 18th century unusual felling Axe head only. Look over the pictures. There is a notch on the underside near the lower eye area. (unknown use). The blade measures 4" and is 7" long. The Pole is 1 1/2" by 2 7/8". The tapered eye is 2 1/4" long and is 3/4" tapered down to 3/8". There is a "V" mark (see photo). Weighs 3 pounds 8 oz. This shape of the head is angled down towards the handle area. The use is unknown.
