This is a new resin nose to convert a regular Bristol Centaurus-powered Hawker Sea Fury to the single Griffon-powered prototype.  When fitted with the Griffon, this aircraft included a “power egg” with the engine and radiator integrated together in a round cowling.  The AVRO Lincoln and Shackelton used a similar layout, but not quite the same shape, so unfortunately they don’t make good replacements.

Includes the engine cowling with contra-prop spinner and internal oil cooler inlet.  Now includes exhaust stubs.  Also includes the small wing root intakes on both sides and properly-sized vinyl masks for the "P" prototype side markings.

Does not include props or mods to the fuselage to fair into the new cowling.

Note that the spinners are molded as part of the single casting, so if you want them to spin, you’ll need to slice them off.  The oil cooler inlet came out a little crooked, but it won’t be very noticeable with the props installed.  Some Spitfire and Seafire kits include spare Rotol prop blades, so that's a good source for the props.  I used the spare contra-rotating props from the Special Hobby Spitfire Mk 21 (which uses a 5-blade prop but the sprues also include a set of contra-rotating props).

I built this to fit the PM Models Sea Fury, but should fit other kits since you need to widen the front edge of the kit fuselage to fit it anyway.  You will need to cut off the excess pour stub then hollow out a slight depression so that it fits nicely against the fuselage (at least that’s how it fits the PM Models kit).

This particular Fury prototype, LA610, had the small wing root intakes on both sides, unlike a Sea Fury.  Vertical tail profile was a little different, too (not included).
