Bell OH-58 "Kiowa" (born Bell OH-58 Kiowa) is an American light multi-purpose helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter Textron based on the Bell 206 model.
From 1969 until 2016, it was widely used by the US Army for reconnaissance and close fire support of ground forces, was used in most armed conflicts involving the United States in the second half of the 20th - early 21st century. During the Vietnam War, the United States lost about 45 OH-58A helicopters. As a result of the invasion of Afghanistan and the war in Iraq, at least 35 helicopters of this type were lost in combat.
A significant amount was exported. In 1970, OH-58As were purchased and put into service in Canada.
