Aircraft Avro Series 504 (Eng. Avro 504 Series) - British two-seat basic training aircraft. The first Avro 504 took off at Brookland in July 1913. A.V. Roe built 3,696 aircraft, with the remainder coming from other contractors including Brush Electrical, Parnall, Saunders, Blériot & Spud (Bleriot & Spad). Aircraft continued to operate successfully until the 1930s.
In April 1913, amateur designer Alliot Verdon Roe (Avro), founder of Avro * (Avro), based on the Model 500, began developing a new aircraft, intended primarily for civilian use - pilot training and air travel .
In September 1913, the aircraft took part in the aviation parade competition in Hendon, where it showed an average speed of 107 km / h, finishing in fourth place. Despite the fact that the aircraft was created for training and sporting purposes, the military department drew attention to it, which in July signed a contract with Avro for the supply of 12 aircraft for the Royal Flying Command and 4 aircraft for the Admiralty.
