The Douglas F4D Skyray (eng. Douglas F4D Skyray; after 1962, the designation F-6) is an American carrier-based interceptor fighter built by Douglas Aircraft. The world's first carrier-based supersonic fighter.
He made his first flight on January 23, 1951. He was in service with the US Navy and Marine Corps in 1956-1964. A total of 422 aircraft were built.
In the summer of 1958, it was used in tests of the world's first air-launched launch vehicle NOTS-EV-1 Pilot.
