Description

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver sugar casterhas a tapering cylindrical form onto a plain circular spreading foot.

The surface of the caster is plain and embellished to the upper portion with four applied Art Deco style fan motifs.

The sugar caster retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, encircled with a band of pierced geometric triangular motifs, in addition to a stellate arrangement to the upper portion, all in the Art Deco style.

The cover is surmounted by an iconic Art Deco style tapering cylindrical sterling silver finial.

Condition

This antique Art Deco sugar caster is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The caster has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
