An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare set of antique English cast sterling silver pepperettes / peppers modelled in the form of owls; an addition to our collectable silver collection
Description
These exceptional antique Victorian cast sterling silver peppers are realistically modelled in the form of owls/owlets, graduating in size.
These silver shakers have been embellished with embossed decoration reproducing the details of the birds' plumage and anatomical features.
Each of the silver owls retains the original, hallmarked push fit cover/head ornamented to the upper portion with pierced 'pepper' holes.
The cover of these sterling silver owl shakers are further ornamented with the original bead eyes; each piece bears a different colour pair of eyes.
ConditionThese antique sterling silver owl shakers are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The embossed decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each owl and part hallmarks to the covers are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique silverware.
