Description

This exceptional antique George IV sterling silver toast rack has an incurved arched form.

This antique silver toast rack has six compartments divided by a pierced incurved arch style frameincorporating a central carrying handle.

The cast sterling silver oval carrying handle surmounts an impressive scroll bordered vacant cartouche.

The hallmarkedrectangular rounded shaped base has a plain central strut.

The base is embellished with an embossed and applied gadroon decorated border, accented with leaf designs to either end.

This impressive toast rack is supported by four impressive cast silver leaf decorated bracket style feet.

Condition

This antique silver toast rack is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The cast, embossed and applied decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the base are all very clear; the hallmarks have been deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
