Introduced in 1950 ’Super’ is the first wrist watch model of Seiko with a center-second hand mounted concentrically along with the minute and hour hands. Earlier Seiko watches were designed with a small second hand located at the 6 o'clock position.

This timepiece is a real rarity - it's hard to find a Seiko watch from that era in such excellent condition. This early piece of the ‘Super’ model-family could have been produced in 1950/1951.

The upper part of the case is 14k gold filled, the back is stainless steel. The diameter of the case is 30mm (without crown), height is 37mm (lug-to-lug), strap size is 15mm. The acryl crystal is clear, transparent and scratch-free. The case is in excellent condition, but traces of a previous repair can be seen on the lower left lug.

The barely visible vintage patina of the excellent condition champagne colored dial, the inlaid golden hour-indices, the inlaid stylized "S" logo and the dark blue printed minute indices as well, as the original golden hands are radiating the elegant style of this classical watch. The watch is equipped with an appropriate flexible metal strap.

The 17 jewels Seikosha movement runs well, keeps time accurately. The watch is freshly serviced, ready to wear or become to be a part of a valuable collection.
