VHT Special 6 Ultra 1x12" Guitar Tube Amp Combo

This amp has two modes. One is a blackface Fender mode with the classic blackface tone stack represented in fixed resistors and capacitors. Then there is boost mode which lifts the tone stack ground for much more signal level and a flattening out of the tone stack response. It's to me more of a tweed era sound although the power supply on this amp is a lot more robust than those old tweed amps.

The Chromeback speaker features a full sized 50 oz magnet and is rated at 60 watts. Some people say it's a bit like a Celestion Vintage 30 which it resembles in specs and sound. The speaker is finished in chrome which is very cool.

The amp isn't too heavy and with the eyelet board being handwired you couldn't build it for this price.

The Depth control changes the cathode bypass cap on the power tube to give you various levels of bass response. There are 11 settings to choose from. The texture switch is like a Vox cut control which tames the treble in the power stage. It also has a tone control which emphasises bass or treble or can be neutral.

There is a whole community of modders of these amps and they sound great stock but you can modify it to your liking very easily. You can see the schematic in the photo's. This is included in the instruction manual which you can download.
