To kick off a new line of exclusive merchandise in partnership with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, CASETiFY wanted to send a ‘you’re headed to Hogwarts’ care package to a select few individuals. Because, if we’re honest, a phone without a House case and a matching Airpods holder is almost as bad as a witch or wizard forgetting their robe or wand.

When they initially approached us with the project, they had a box design, merchandise, and a series of hand-written letters from Hogwarts at the ready. They asked Premier Press to handle engineering and producing the box and shipping it to their VIP list.

The box was beautiful but our team saw a few opportunities for creative design personalization. Instead of a matte box, we proposed a few modest changes to make the box’s appearance to more closely resemble a piece of luggage. We added a:

Leather carrying strap, crafted by local vendor Portland Leather Goods, that was digitally cut and then riveted in house

4-color digital printing technique to create a leather-like appearance on the outside of the box

When it came to the inside of the box, we added jump bands to help secure the product during transport.

Once the design additions were approved, we began production. The final product was a turned-edge box made with recycled pulp board. We opted for C1S stock over the pulp board with a scuff-proof laminate over the top for added protection of the foil-stamped logo. A magnetic closure was used to keep the box closed until its final destination.
