The Air Jordan 2 Retro ‘Black History Month’ emerges with various African-style prints arrayed throughout the all-leather construction. The prints are brought to life on the heel panel, while they’re applied in sleek tonal fashion throughout the rest of the black leather upper. A matching black midsole is supported by a multicolor rubber outsole.

The Air Jordan 2 Retro 'Black History Month' 2019 released in February 2019 as part of Nike's Black History Month collection. The shoe's leather upper features a subtle pattern throughout the black portion of the build, highlighted by vibrant kente cloth-inspired prints on the heels that differ between the shoes. Underfoot, a white Air midsole gives way to a colorful rubber outsole, while metallic gold 'BHM' branding gives the nod to the occasion.

Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released in 1986, the Air Jordan 2 was once made in Italy for a premium feel. There is a myth surrounding the first retro in 1994, apparently, the original mold was destroyed or stolen so Jordan and Nike had to dissect the original pair and recreate it from scratch.

With Black History Month around the corner, Jordan Brand pays homage to the historic month with a blacked-out Air Jordan 2. The leather boasting sneaker is a premium basketball sneaker silhouette that features gold accents and Afro-American-inspired graphics.
