150th Anniversary of Valery Bryusov

On July 18th, 2023, one-sided postcard with 1 stamp dedicated to the theme “150th Anniversary of Valery Bryusov” has been put into circulation.

The postage stamp of the postcard depicts the prominent Russian writer, translator and literary critic Valery Bryusov (1873-1924). The postage stamp also depicts the house of Valery Bryusov as well as his handwritings and the inscription “150TH ANNIVERSARY” written in Armenian and English languages.    

The bottom left corner of the postcard depicts the inscriptions “RUSSIAN WRITER, TRANSLATOR AND LITERARY CRITIC” written in Armenian and English languages as well as a cover of V. Bryusov’s book,  his signature and one of his notes.   

Valery Brusov became interested in the Armenian poetry in the 1910s, made translations from Armenian, created the anthology "Armenian poetry from ancient times to our days" (1916), for which he was awarded the title of People's Poet of Armenia in 1923.
