Macallan Double Cask 12 Year Old is a classic Macallan style single malt with the unmistakable sweetness of American oak but less of the fruity notes that the distiller's other sherry cask whiskies carry. To the nose, it does deliver the dried fruit aroma that signifies Macallan Scotch but with tones of aromatic butterscotch. On the palate, it is creamy with touches of honey, marmalade, cinnamon and warm pastries, each in their turn.
