PAINTED TAKAYUKI TAKEYA DOG - ANGLES OF HUNTERS -

FEWTURE - SMH - ARTSTORM - HOBBY JAPAN - NIRASAWA

Here's an incredible piece inspired by

Takayuki Takeya's dog Nitta from

his seminal work ANGLES OF HUNTERS.

Takeya created a series of sculptures and dioramas

about a future earth where humans have gone back to

tribal living and a hunting and gathering lifestyle.

They were initially published in S.M.H. Magazine.

It's a staggering collection of work!

Fishermen are surrounded by their hunting

dogs eager to get a taste of the creature they just caught.

This painted dog sculpture was inspired by this.

I thought it was by Takeya when I purchased it, but it's

by another talented Japanese sculptor, I don't know the name.

I purchased it from him many years back directly from Japan.

The dog measures 6 1/2 inches long

5 inches tall (at the top of the tail)

It's secured to a wood base, with a felt lined bottom.

It's a stunning piece that would look great among

any of your Takeya pieces or any original designs

for that matter!
