Japanese KO-IMARI blue & white porcelain Glazed Bun Gourd Shape plate.


IMARI-yaki is a general term of porcelain that has been produced in the Hizen area centered onthe current Saga Prefecture. It has a long history. Origin is a 17 century. And it is also famous as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain.


About KO-IMARI (real old Imari). Typically, Imari over the middle of the 18th century is KO-IMARI. It has an unique atmosphere and work that is not in general Imari. And it is precious because it is very rare.

Big plate dyed using dark indigo glaze which seems to be belo indigo.
