This rocket belonged to my father who lived in Alamogordo, NM in the 1960's. At the time, he was employed at the White Sands Missile Range where he helped build a rocket-rail system. 

Alamogordo is known for its connection with the 1945 Trinity test, which was the first ever explosion of an atomic bomb.

During the 1950s–60s, Alamogordo was an unofficial center for research on pilot safety and the developing United States' space program.

I have never seen another piece like this online.
