Selmer Mark 7 VII Altsaxophon (Germany / Berlin) | 1980 - One of the Last.

I'm selling my Selmer Mark VII Alto Saxophone. I bought it ca. 2010 from a specialist in Marburg (Germany). The following years I played professionally, with the Mark VII as my main instrument. Well, times and professions change and because I think, that this wonderful instrument that grew close to my heart deserves a future in which it is played, I decided to part ways with it.

It's one of the last instruments of the Mark VII series that Selmer manufactured until 1980. In my opinion the younger sister of the legendary Mark VI is highly underrated.The saxophone still has the original finish, with the resulting patina. The sound is very balanced, smooth, mellow and rich. I played everything on it, from standards on Open Stages and workshops with a very open mouth piece from Otto Link to classical concerts with a Selmer Concept as well as free jazz and noise in the later years. It has a character, that's a guarantee.

The technical condition is flawless, with the original bocal. Although the last complete overhaul at a specialist was some time ago, it wasn't played much since then and the kangaroo leather flaps are closing as good as ever. My mouthpieces are not included and I suggest taking the saxophone to a shop and finding an individual fit for you in that respect. If there is something wrong for you with the instrument or if it doesn't fit you personally, I'll be glad to take it back, you just have to bear the shipping costs for the return. I'll gladly send the saxophone in the very secure and handy case you see in the photos (included in the price). Ich verkaufe hier mein Selmer Mark VII Altsaxofon. Ich habe es ca. 2010 bei einem Spezialisten in Marburg (Lahn) gekauft. In den Jahren darauf habe ich professionell gespielt, mit dem Mark VII als meinem Hauptinstrument. Nun, Zeiten und Professionen ändern sich und weil ich glaube, dass dieses wunderbare Instrument, das mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist, eine Zukunft verdient, in der es gespielt wird, habe ich mich entschlossen, mich von ihm zu trennen.

Es handelt sich um eines der letzten von Selmer gebauten Modelle der Reihe Mark VII (N.311708), der meiner persönlichen Meinung nach ungemein unterschätzten kleinen Schwester des legendären Mark VI. Das Instrument trägt den Originallack, ist dementsprechend patiniert. Der Klang ist ausgewogen, super weich und super voll. Ich habe darauf alles gespielt, von Standards auf der Open Stage und in Workshops mit einem offenen Mundstück von Otto Link, über klassische Konzerte mit einem Selmer Concept Mundstück, bis hin zu freiem Jazz und Geräuschmusik in den späteren Jahren. Das Ding hat Charakter, garantiert.

Technisch befindet es sich in einwandfreiem Zustand, mit Original S-Bogen. Auch wenn die letzte Generalüberholung beim Spezialisten einige Zeit her ist, wurde es seitdem nicht mehr viel gespielt und die Känguruleder-Klappen schließen so gut wie eh und je. Meine Mundstücke sind nicht enthalten, das ist ja etwas, wo man eh besser persönlich durchprobiert. Falls es etwas am Saxophon zu beanstanden gibt oder es nicht zum eventuellen Käufer passt, nehme ich es gerne zurück, nur die Rückversandkosten müssten übernommen werden. Gerne gebe ich meinen sehr sicheren und handlichen Koffer mit ab (im Preis enthalten, schöner blauer Samt). Falls Sie einen internationalen Versand außerhalb der EU wünschen, würde ich die Versandoptionen dementsprechend abändern können.
