In 1965 it was redesignated as 126 Signal Squadron (Special Forces). The badge of the Royal Australian Signals (RA Sigs) was used until 1991/2. In 1992, 126th Signal Squadron (Special Forces) qualified commandos were given approval to wear the commando badge.

126 Signals Squadron (Special Forces) Corps badge is a figure of Mercury on a globe, the latter supported above by a scroll bearing the motto ‘Certa Cito’, and a boomerang below bearing the inscription ‘Australia’. The whole is surmounted by a crown, detached.
