Stainless steel adapter is much stronger than the multitude of 3D printed adapter options in plastic. Have confidence when you shift!

For those in any doubt this listing does not include the sim gearbox :)

The problem: I want to put a real gear knob on my Thrustmaster Shifter.

My original solution to the problem was to turn to my 3D printer. I designed and printed an adapter for the OEM Shaft. It looked a little weird and was top heavy as it was perched on top of the OEM shaft. It didn't pass my usual strength test and even after a number of adapter designs some snapped, others wobbled after a while.
I moved to stainless steel to replicate the OEM look and to give the design an inherent strength vs plastic. This also allowed me to lower this 95mm tall knob to a sweet spot so it looked and performed better.

The gear knob that I have sourced is 100% aluminium and has a diameter of 36.5mm and is 95mm high and weighs 200g

Fitting Instructions
  1. Unscrew the gear knob anticlockwise

  2. Use a small spanner or grips to unscrew the OEM shaft

  3. Swap the plastic collar from the OEM to the short shift shaft

  4. Screw the short shift shaft into place and tighten with a screwdriver, Screw in the adapter of your choice

  5. Add The gear knob.
