Vintage 1950’s sleeveless formal gown. This dress appears to be handmade as there are no tags and going by the inner stitching . Black overlay of lace mixed with tulle Swiss dot. Thr lace bodice features an embroidered floral pattern. The spaghetti straps are done in black velvet as is the waistband. The black velvet waist continues to the back where there is a small black now with a snap closure . Long black velvet ribbon trails from the bow. The bottom of the dress grazes the ankles in the front tapering to a floor length in the back . The underpart of the gown is a blush beige taffeta . There is a tear in the back of the lining of the dress . This could be stitched up or pinned to hide it. See last picture for to see the flaw .

Dress zips in the back with a hook and eye closure at the top.

Since I believe it to be handmade with no size tags , it measures as a size by today’s standards.

The mannequin is approximately a size 2 and it is big on her and was clipped for photos .

Measures Approximately

17” from armpit to armpit

28” waist

42” from shoulder to bottom at the front 58” in the back.
