In fair condition. Ex-library of the Lawrence Library, Pepperell. Antiquarian stamps and plate throughout end papers and pastedown. Presentation plate by Mr. Pietro Isola April 19th, 188(?) on rear of second end page. Blind stamp dated 1900 on title. Internally sound with light toning. Scattered, sometimes heavy foxing, throughout. Moderate foxing overall. Plates affected in aesthetic by foxing. Free of known marginalia. All plates present. Moderate wear to extremities with scuffing at edges and tips. Tips are tinted in Paris green with rubbing and loss. Spine abraded with loss at tail. Dust soiling to top and bottom edges. Binding intact. Please see photos. 

An informative and detailed architectural work by German architect Ludwig Degen. Gives copious examples of Swiss cottage style homes, with intricate wood work details, banisters, a “Gartenhaus”, a few garden pavilions and one house shown at the end of the text. Scarce.
