Here's a super rare pre-painted statue sculpted by

Takayuki Takeya and released all the way back in 2002!

It's the Panzer Dragoon Orta pre-painted statue.

This is a killer piece of sculptural art featuring

Orta and the Panzer Dragoon who freed her!

the characters are from.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is a rail shooter game for Xbox,

developed by Smilebit and published by Sega.

The fourth Panzer Dragoon game, it was released

in Japan in 2002 and in North America and Europe in 2003.

The story follows a girl, Orta,

who is freed by a dragon and

embarks on a quest to prevent the

abuse of ancient technology.

Like many fans of Takayuki Takeya, I only became aware

of this statue and the game from advertisements in Amazing

Figure Modeler magazine.

The pre painted statue was very

expensive at the time coming in at $500.

The statue was limited to only 500 pieces worldwide

however I doubt they reached that number.

Many statues arrived broken to collectors here in the U.S.

This piece has a small but clean break of her scarf,

which you can see photos of.

This was a common break which

happened during shipping.

I think the statue looks great as is!

The sculpture measures in at 10 1/2 inches tall

x 11 inches wide.

This really launched Takeya's pre-paint statue work.

He went from sculpting garage kits for Fewture, Kaiyodo

and others to pre-painted statues for Kotobukiya and other

big statue companies of the day!

This is a truly fantastic and rarely seen piece of Takeya

history! The detail, pose and overall character has a real presence.
