This striking midcentury "Grandmother's Fan" quilt top was totally pieced and assembled by hand, crafted by a talented seamstress with an eye for color and pattern. The vintage fabrics are colorful, with each "fan" featuring a bright red graphic element. Measuring about 72" by 80" in size, the top was never quilted and doesn't appear to have been laundered. Discovered in a local estate, the lovely old quilt top had been carefully folded away for many years; there is very little damage, just a few small age spots.

This sturdy vintage quilt top could certainly be made into a quilt as originally intended; I've shown it on a queen-size bed for reference. Also, a quilt top like this could be finished as a throw, framed for hanging or even used casually as a door or window curtain.
