This volume encompasses women's health from Ancient Greek philosophers like Hippocrates, Aristotle, & Ephesus until the eighteenth century. To more recent doctors like Giulio Cesare Casseri (1552-1616), an Italian anatomist. He was the first to describe the Circle of Willis. He wrote Tabulae anatomical, probably the most important anatomical treatise in the 17th century, published in Venice, in 1627. This is an incredibly interesting, and heavily illustrated book on women's health, specifically gynecology and child-birth. Some illustrations are tipped-in colored wood-engravings, and others are black and white in-text illustrations. Can be used for scholarly research.
