The quality of the spectrum produced from our gratings is the brightest possible with a minimum of distracting visual noise. Our light diffraction grating are the principal component in a spectroscope or spectrometer. Project a spectrum using an overhead projector or 35mm slide projector for spectrum demonstration purposes. Use in conjunction with coloured film gels for additive and subtractive colour demonstrations.

What is Diffraction?
In optics, a diffraction grating is an optical component with a periodic structure that splits and diffracts light into several beams travelling in different directions. The emerging coloration is a form of structural coloration. The directions of these beams depend on the spacing of the grating and the wavelength of the light so that the diffraction grating acts as the dispersive element.
