Very large pictorial map of Africa and Europe lithographed for the company Sabena airlines in 1950, during the era of Belgian Congo, by Claude Dohet.

It shows the Sabena airlines between Brussels and Kano, and Stanleyville in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. 

In lower left margin, an original stamp of Belgium with the date 1960, 19 April.

The routes delineated in the map shows the destinations of the company around Europe. SABENA which is an acronym for Societé Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne, ("Belgian Corporation for Air Navigation Services") as the national airline of Belgium from 1923 to 2001, with its base at Brussels National Airport.

The map is embellished with nice decorative in Congo, North Africa and Europe, some boats in the sea, and a large compass. The decorations and the Latin text to indicate the oceans and continents we think of the maps of Blaeu or Mercator.
