The canvas is in Alan Bean's 'photo realistic' style, and is truly a unique opportunity to own a stunning depiction of the critical Apollo 11's 'Eagle' Lunar Module 'blast off'. The colours are visually stunning in this 'action-packed' art.

They are the 'First of a Limited Edition Run' and identified as such on their Certificate of Authenticity. Printers' Proofs are for the 'Direct Inspection and Approval' by the Artist and Publisher! The premium 'Printers' Proof' is highly sought after by Collectors as a result.

Alan Bean's distinguishing art!  The tools Alan Bean used to explore the Moon were also used by him to put the Moon's stamp on each painting he created. Exact replicas of his Moon boots were used to make footprints across the painting's surface, reminiscent of the Apollo boot prints remaining on the Moon today. Streaks etched on the painting's surface are from the same geology hammer he used on the Apollo 12 mission. Finally, a sharp-edged bit from one of the core tubes is used to make the circular indentations in the surface. These are beautifully captured in each edition.

Description (Space and Aviation Firsts © 2017-2023).

'The Eagle is Headed Home' 'Neil Armstrong [CMDR] Buzz Aldrin [LMP] Apollo 11 Canvas Printers Proof Print signed by Alan Bean [LMP] Apollo 12 is exciting Moon Art and a defining classic by Alan Bean.

Alan Bean was the only human being in history to become a fine art Master Artist to paint various Apollo mission experiences based on his own personal real experience of having been to, and walked on the Moon!   Here are a few words about this fine art by Alan Bean:

Lunar Module Eagle has just made the first lunar liftoff. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are ascending from Tranquility Base to transfer themselves and their treasure of moon rocks to the command module and head for home.

"On the Apollo 12 mission, I recall looking out the window during lift-off and seeing a ring of bright orange, silver and black flashes of light expanding rapidly outward, glints from pieces of metal-foil insulation blasted from the descent stage by the ascent engine."

This 'The Eagle is Headed Home' signed by Alan Bean captures all the vivid color and brilliance of the original Alan Bean’s work of art.

The 'hallmark' of a Master Space Artist is in their ability to show different types of moments in the harsh environment of space and its different elements.  This art is outstanding for the way Alan Bean captures the magnificent 'blast off' of the Lunar Module Eagle as it begins to soar back into Orbit to rejoin Michael Collins piloting the Command Module [CM] Columbia only 60 miles above.  The moment when the Apollo 11 Crew knew they were safely on their first stage to return to Earth.

Own a Fine Art Edition by astronaut and explorer Alan Bean and you will never look at the Moon the same way again

This art is a true gift to display and enjoy and then hand down, by the first artist to visit another celestial body, the Moon.

There were some moments in the 20th Century that were totally iconic. The Apollo Journeys and Moon Landings were the greatest moments as they were Mankind's First Visits and Steps on another Celestial Body, the Moon.

Mission Profile (source Wikipedia)

Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two humans on the Moon. Mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the lunar module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC.   Armstrong and Aldrin then moved into the lunar module Eagle and landed in the Sea of Tranquillity.

Armstrong became the first to step onto the lunar surface six hours later on July 21 at 02:56:15 UTC; Aldrin joined him about 20 minutes later. They spent about two and a quarter hours together outside the spacecraft, and collected 47.5 pounds [21.5 kg] of lunar material to bring back to Earth.  They stayed a total of about 21.5 hours on the lunar surface.

Michael Collins piloted the command module Columbia alone in lunar orbit while they were on the Moon's surface.

About Alan Bean

This fine art offering is from a terrific Fine Art Artist and Astronaut who walked upon the Moon and is truly a 'Lifetime' opportunity.

Obtaining Alan's work such as this in future years is nigh impossible, especially for a 'Historic Subject' such as this.  'That's how it Felt to Walk Upon The Moon' which sold out commercially in 1988 soon after its release, is one such example.

Alan Bean Original Paintings now typically sell for US250,000 to US$500,000, but were sometimes US30,000 in the 1980s.  Alan Bean Master Art Work Limited Editions typically increase in value over time as well.

Astronaut and artist Alan Bean was not only the first artist to paint a world other than our Earth who actually went there, he was the first in history to paint our Earth after viewing it from space. His art's significance as the original human interpretative record of man's first off-world experience will only increase in its importance and value over time.

Alan Bean, Astronaut and Alexey Leonov, Cosmonaut were the only Space Travellers to become Fine Art Artists. Enjoy the beauty of Alan Bean's Moon Art upon your wall from the only Astronaut who walked upon the Moon and then became a fine art Space Artist.

Collectors Hints (Space and Aviation Firsts © 2017-2023).

Collectors Hint 1 - What is a Canvas Printer's Proof Print?

'Printers Proofs' are the first 1 or 2 of the regular limited edition run, which is followed by the ‘Artist Proofs’.  They are, therefore, highly sought after by Collectors and attract a premium price.

A really serious Collector prefers the 'Printers' Proof' if one is available because they are closest to the Artist and because of the historical context and extra quality and value they represent.

Collectors Hint 2 – What is a 'Fine Artwork’ Canvas Limited Edition Print?

'Fine Artwork' Canvas is intended to reproduce the presentation of the original oil or acrylic painting on a stretched canvas.

This is the option of choice if you desire and prefer to mirror the original painting with the 3D texture and look of a beautiful Canvas.

They are stunningly beautiful in their presentation for that ‘Stand Out Impressiveness’ upon your wall.
