BUY IT NOW - A very large and high quality Bi-Pointed Blade from the Colima culture, found in the Mexican state of the same name. This gorgeous example is made from Mahogany Obsidian, displaying beautiful flaking and high quality worksmanship. It measures 12 1/8 inches long, and is in excellent overall condition with a just few minor ancient nicks. Very large, intact blades like this are hard to come across, as most were ceremonially killed/broken. It comes with a museum quality display stand, which is a $120 value, and greatly enhances the presence of the piece.

From the late Floyd Ritter collection, Collinsville Illinois. Floyd was very well known in many different collecting fields, and had a truly incredible display, mostly in the basement of his home. Occasionally he would let me into his Pre-columbian display to pick out a few items, or in this case, into his frames of large blades.

The Colima people flourished in ancient west Mexico along with the Nayarit and Jalisco people (collectively known as the Shaft Tomb Cultures) from around 200BC-250AD. All three produced incredible works of art, especially in the form of ceramic figures, while the Colima specifically manufactured these amazingly well made, large blades.
