The purpose of the 6th, 7th & 8th photos is to show that these loads will fit in any generation of Lionel 6456 Type Two Bay Hoppers.
In those photos, left to right: Coil couplers, slide shoe with staple trucks; Magnetic couplers with staple trucks; Magnetic couplers with AAR trucks; Both type couplers (magnetic & rigid plastic) with AAR trucks; and both couplers rigid plastic with AAR trucks.
Photos 11 thru 17 are there to show how these loads look in some different road named Lionel 6456 type hoppers and the last two photos are there to show how nice a long train of nothing but Lionel black Lehigh Valley 6456 hoppers looks with coal loads in them.
Note:In some of the older black 6456 hoppers, like the first two pictured on the left, there are inside corner pillars that the others don't have. My loads adapt to both with or without those corner pillars.
Made with strong wood, coarse ballast, well saturated with glue and painted a shiny gloss black to represent coal. Infrequent warpage rarely occurred due to wetness of saturating glue during construction. Therefore some loads have reinforcing strips of no consequence underneath (see 11th photo).
