If
not selected will send pin #1
I bought most of these pins
on my business trips. Communist party and Soviet of Ministers of the USSR made
a decision to build country houses the same way as they built in cities. They
would have the same utilities (water, sour, gas, paved roads, etc.) like city
houses have. The plan was to build about 400 experimental villages around the
USSR. My goal was to visit these construction sites and to prepare a report for
the Soviet Ministry department about the construction progress. During these
trips (1969-1973y) I collected a fair amount of pins from all over the USSR
1.Kaunas
2.Kaunas
3.Druskininka - spa

4.Klaipeda
5.Juodkrante Minor
History Museum; Amber collection
6.Vilnius. In the Ministry of
Agriculture nobody would even know about such "experimental"
villages. Somehow we found a woman, who was able to show us documents
describing construction plans for villages of such type. The finance department
showed us scanty funds allotted to the Ministry of Construction for this
project. With great difficulties we found a person who gave us a couple of
villages.
7.Kedainiai is
one of the oldest cities in Lithuania.
8.Palanga. We
decided to visit village at Rudaicai. Why? It is close to Palanga – gorgeous
resort area. Our village? To be built 40 houses, so far they started one
foundation. And… we did not find any laborers on the site. Peasants don't need
such villages, as they accustom to live on a farm.
9.Plateliai – Lake
10. Gediminas Pilis – Several towers in Vilnius Park
11.
Baltica. The Baltic states
—Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania—were occupied by the Soviet Union under the
auspices of the 1939 Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact in June 1940. They were then
annexed into the Soviet Union as constituent republics in August 1940. 1952y. I
was in training military camp near Vilnius. Naturally we run to AWOL to Vilnius
and saw how local people treated Russians with pure hate.
