The surface of the glass body is embellished with a serrated texture which composes a match striker.

The glass body surmounts an impressive circular shaped dished well, featuring a raised rounded border with paralleling applied moulded decoration to the rim.

This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an oak wood insert to the underside of the base; this insert indicates the high quality of the piece.

The underside of the well bears the retailer"s mark "Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street W", in addition to the full hallmarks.

This antique glass and silver matchstriker is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
