JOHNSON, B. S. Poems & Poems Two. New York: Chilmark Press. & London: Trigram Press. 1964-1972. First editions. Poems bound in cloth in the dust jacket, Poems Two the softcover wraps issue, printed simultaneously as the hardcover edition. Though known primarily for his superb experimental prose—and his book-in-a-box The Unfortunates specifically—Johnson’s poems are generally excellent, often much more simplistic though just as economic as his prose works. Johnson’s only published works of poetry. Poems near fine with small bookplate concealed by the front flap, in a very good or better unclipped dust jacket, small nicks to the corners and spine tips. Poems Two very good, with a few wrinkles at the spine and light bumps to the edges. An attractive duo.
