This fine antique Victorian sterling silver vinaigrette has a rectangular shaped form.
The surface of this antique vinaigrette is embellished with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration incorporating a vacant circular cartouche to the centre of the cover.
The sides of the box are ornamented with bright cut engraved simplified water leaf designs.
The hinged silver vinaigrette cover allows access to the original hinged, pierced decorated silver gilt grille.
The vinaigrette retains its original gilt interior.
ConditionThis antique vinaigrette is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.
The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks to the interior of the cover, and part hallmarks to the grille and interior of the base are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from this fine example of Victorian silverware.
