SOLID STERLING SILVER CUFFLINKS by WHH WILLIAM HAIR HASELER (Birmingham)

A wonderful pair of Edwardian solid sterling silver lozenge shaped cufflinks by the Birmingham silversmith WHH William Hair Haseler of Liberty fame who designed/constructed many of Archibald Knox's designs in the late 1800's early 1900's.

The cufflinks are hallmaked on rear with 'WHH' initials and 'STERLING'

Superb clean geometric vertical lines design circa 1904.

Did William Hair Haseler get his inspiration for his cufflinks design from the newly built imposing red brick terracotta tower of the Methodist Central Hall in Birmingham which was completed in 1904? The design of vertical lines creates a silhouette shape of a tower and William would have been over-awed at the newly built construction that he would have been eye witness to in his home town not far from his business locations in Richard St and Vyse St Birmingham!

Cufflinks size approx 19mm x 14mm. Weight about 11gms.

These cufflinks are in excellent undamaged original condition and would make a great present or gift to a loved one!
