Acceptable preowned condition. I feel it is too old to get a higher condition grade. This book is over 130 years old and is considered antique. I think it is still complete. The cover has minimal wear compared to other examples. The gold embossed cover still shows well and is NOT all worn away. The metal latch still works to keep the book closed. The front says a name likely the previous owner. The back says "1893" maybe when the book was given to the owner? The only major flaw is once you open the book as the first couple of pages and front cover break away from the rest of the book/spine. They aren't completely loose but are only attached to the back cover. The rest of the pages (99%) are still strongly attached. It is just the one spot very early in the book. If you can overlook the one problem, it is impressively preserved otherwise in my opinion (i cant guarantee however that it wont fall apart I was very careful when taking pictures and then latched it back closed and will never open again).
