The table is made of heavy iron and the lift Birch Wood top is included, and it is also VERY heavy and made of solid 1" thick wood. Each table has 2 drawers. One in the center for large sheets of paper, and one on the side for drawing supplies/drafting tools. I put an organizer in the drawer to show how easily you can do that but it is approx 4" deep and goes to the depth of the table.
