General Condition                      :        The tableware is all in excellent condition and most of it appears to be unused. A few of the items have light crazing under the clear glaze and there is some variation in the colour of the back stamp (makers mark) There are no chips, cracks, colour loss, or any damage whatsoever, to any of the pieces.

Notes of possible interest :
Formed in Lambeth, London, in 1815 by John Doulton the pottery business was moved to Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in 1853 by his son Henry Doulton.  King Edward VII granted a Royal Warrant in 1901 and the pottery became Royal Doulton. Over time various potteries including Mintons and Royal Albert became part of the Royal Doulton Group which continues to produce fine bone China dinnerware, as well as a vast range of other products. These brands formed WWRD Holdings Ltd (Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood,Royal Doulton) which, since July 2015, became an acquisition of Fiskars Corporation a vast Finnish metal and consumer brands company founded in 1649.

Royal Doulton “Tapestry” (TL1024) was produced in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent between the 1966 and 1988 when it was discontinued. This pattern was used on a range of Dinner and Tea ware made of “English Translucent China” (ETC) or “Fine Oven China” – both of which are now known as “Fine China”.  It consists of a multicoloured fruits and flowers on a pale green border, a white background (inside and out), and gold gilded rims and trim.
