HOW DOES MEGAHOME WORK?
The water distiller first boils the water, thereby destroying viruses and bacteria and separating impurities. The water vapor enters a tube made of stainless steel, where it is cooled and converted back into water. This is how pure water is produced. Then, this water passes through an activated carbon filter, finally removing any traces of impurities.
INCREDIBLY EASY TO USE
The water distiller produces 4 liters of absolutely pure water in 5-6 hours. All you need to do is fill, plug in, and start. The water drips into a glass container that can be stored in the refrigerator. It automatically shuts off, so there's no need to worry about overheating.
ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION AND COST
To calculate the cost of distilling 4 liters of water:
The distiller uses 580 W of electricity per hour
If the distillation process lasts 6 hours, we calculate
580 W x 6 h = ~3.5 kWh
Taking the cost of one kilowatt-hour for a standard consumer, regardless of daytime, nighttime, weekend, or other tariffs (those who pay a different price can adjust their tariff)
1 kWh cost = 0.20 EUR
3.5 x 0.13 = ~ 0.70 EUR
So we have calculated the cost of distilling 4 liters of water when the distillation process takes 6 hours. Accordingly, you can calculate the costs of an individual process.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS (PACKS)
Is it mandatory to use carbon filters? Wood charcoal filters out volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as pesticides and solvents. Carbon filtration removes these chemical substances and improves the taste of the water. Components of activated wood charcoal: natural coconut husk. Features: removes odors and improves taste. Shelf life: Activated carbon packs need to be replaced every 25 days. If the distilled water has an odd taste or smell, replace the activated carbon pack immediately. Water will taste better if you use 2 packs at once. Do not put unused, unspent, or currently used activated carbon packs in the refrigerator, as they can absorb odors and give the water a bad taste. New activated carbon packs may release a small amount of black powder, which is completely harmless to the human body. It is simply powdered wood charcoal, using it is safe. Sealed activated carbon packs should be kept in a cool place. When purchasing a new distiller, you will find activated carbon packs in the package, or you can buy them separately.

DURATION OF THE DISTILLATION PROCESS
Depending on the temperature of the supplied water, the distillation process may take different amounts of time. If the water is very cold, the process can take up to 30% longer than at normal room temperature. For example, if the water temperature is 22 degrees (room temperature), it takes an average of 3 - 3.5 hours to distill the entire amount of water. If the temperature is around 8 degrees, it will take about 5 hours, and so on.
If the water reservoir is filled above the maximum fill limit, the device has to evaporate more water than usual, so the process takes longer.
As the operating power for boiling water is 350-850 W, if the user's home power is low, the device will automatically switch to low power, saving electricity, so the distillation time will vary.
ABOUT DISTILLED WATER
Distilled water is the purest because it contains no additives or impurities. Distillation is the most practical among water purification methods because it reliably removes all types of impurities during this process. Distilled water was highly valued by health advocate Paul Bragg because it has no salts. Have you ever tasted completely pure water? Tap water contains impurities. Even bottled and filtered water contains impurities. And the problem is, if you don't filter the water before drinking it, the filter becomes your body. The only guaranteed way to get absolutely clean water is distillation. Distilled water is 99.8% pure. By using distilled water, you are using water that is cleaner than any other water in bottles or from the tap and cleaner than water treated by any other filtration or purification method.
