Margaret Eleanor Atwood (born 1939) is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, essayist, teacher, environmental activist, and inventor. Her works encompass a variety of themes including gender and identity, religion and myth, the power of language, climate change, and "power politics." She is also the founder of the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Writers' Trust of Canada. This is a very clean copy of Atwood's most famous work The Handmaid's Tale, included with a poem "Variation on the Word Sleep" with Atwood's signature. Presents very well, would make an excellent gift.
