Description: Beautiful and detailed geographical Mercator map of Algeria and Morocco copper-engraved with hand coloring published in Amsterdam by J. Janssonius

History: After Gerard Mercator's death, his atlas and map plates were acquired by Willem Janszoon Blaeu, a Dutch cartographer and map publisher.
However, some of Mercator's works and map plates were also obtained by the Janssonius family.
The Janssonius family, including Joannes Janssons (Johannes Jansson) and his son-in-law, Henricus Hondius, were notable Dutch cartographers and map publishers in the 17th century.

Atlas Minor.was published in Amsterdam by J. Janssonius, between 1648-51. with ornamental title-cartouche, and mile scale cartouche and German title above the map

Engraving is Absolutely Guaranteed authentic original map.
A Certificate of Authenticity ( COA ) will be supplied on request.
