Original etching Aquatint "Le Petit Trianon, Hameau de la Reine" Versailles signed Jean-Joseph CHABRIDON

The subject: Le Petit Trianon, The Queen's hamlet at Versailles. Marie-Antoinette was particularly fond of this place, where she could live a simple, country life far from the glitz and glamour of the Court. Given to her by her husband, King Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette found a haven of intimacy in this estate, where she could escape from etiquette.

Jean-Joseph Chabridon is an artist from Auvergne, born in Clermont-Ferrand at the end of the 19th century. Painter and aquafortist, a pupil of Studder, he made his debut in 1913 at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français (of which he became a member) and at the Salon des Indépendants with "Rives de l'Allier", and exhibited his engravings, mainly published by Galerie Lutétia, at the Salons de la Société des Artistes Français and des Indépendants from 1920 to 1934.
