ORIGINAL WW2 GERMAN DEATH CARD/STERBEBILD

MAIN TEXT DETAILS: Josef Kerscher - Sergeant and Pilot in a Fighter Squadron. Holder of the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, The Gold operational Front Flying Clasp for Bomber Flying, the West Wall Medal and Wound Badge. He suffered a hero's death on 10th Oct 1943 during the Arial battles over his western homeland, at the age of 24 and 8 months. [NOTE: from the evidence of this card, Josef moved around a bit during his military career; he participated in the design/build of the fortifications on Germany's western boarders, known as the Westwall/Siegfried Line, and then served in a bomber squadron, flying a minimum of 110 front line missions to earn his gold flying clasp, before becoming a fighter pilot]
