The ZeroWater 7-Glass Water Filter Pitcher is designed specifically to fit in the door of a standard refrigerator and is the first in its class to have a sealed lid and reservoir that are designed to fill in water without spilling the water that is still filtering. This means that the filtration tank can be kept full by adding an additional glass of water to the filtration tank of the 6 glass pitcher design. Ergonomic, space-saving design is perfect for small refrigerators or users who prefer a lightweight jug
The ZeroWater filtration system combines five sophisticated technologies that work together to ensure that almost all dissolved solids are removed from your tap water, leaving you with great-tasting water. These are the only NSF certified filters on the market that reduce lead concentrations.
During the first stage of filtration, ZeroWater's combination of activated carbon and oxidation reduction removes the chlorine taste characteristic of tap water. The ion exchange filtration step removes almost all dissolved solids that may be left over from public water systems or even released into the water from pipelines, such as aluminum, lead, zinc, nitrates and others. Three additional filtration stages are required to remove other contaminants and provide sufficient treatment time for the water to achieve a solids reading of "000" on a laboratory grade meter.

More information about this product
Filtered water from this 1.7 liter water filter pitcher has a great, soft taste.
Since it has a reading of 0 (no dissolved substances in the water), it is also perfect for making tea.
What's even better is that you can pour water from this water jug while it's still being filtered in the filter.
Also, you don't have to lift the jug off the counter, as the tap on the back of the vessel makes it very easy to pour in a glass of filtered water.

Stage 1: Coarse filter to remove fine particles/sediment.
Stage 2: A spreader that maximizes contact time.
Stage 3: A multi-layer system using an alloy of activated carbon and oxidation reduction.
Stage 4: Complex ion exchange cycle
Stage 5: Non-woven membrane to remove fine particles.
Pollutants or other substances that are removed or reduced by this water purifier are not necessarily present in all users' water.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE FILTER?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to accurately determine the lifetime of the filter.
This is because the water contamination varies from tap to tap.
To let you know when it's time to change the filter, you get a free TDS meter with every pitcher.
Put it in and test the water every week to know if it's time to change the filter.

NOTES!
Do not use non-disinfected water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
Unless otherwise specified, municipal water is suitable for drinking.
*Filtered drinking tap water tested by an independent laboratory (not the US Food and Drug Administration) for quality and can use the purity label. Compared to water treated with filters from major filter manufacturers.
QUANTITY OF CLEANED WATER
The water testing device (TDS meter) is calibrated and ready for use.
A TDS meter indicates the number of dissolved solids in water in parts per million (1 ppm = 1 milligram of dissolved solids per liter of water).
When dissolved solids in water are present (according to TDS readings):
from 002 to 050 ppm (lightly polluted water) - cleans ~ 150 liters
051 to 200 ppm (most common contamination) - cleans 95 to 150 liters
201 to 300 ppm (solid particles high) - cleans 55 to 95 liters
from 301 to 400 ppm (solid particles very high) - cleans from 30 to 55 liters
above 401 ppm (solid particles are particularly high) - cleans 30 liters and less
WHAT IS TDS? TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS
Dissolved solids of substances such as minerals, salts and organic compounds that dissolve in water in contact with rocks and other surfaces are measured. TDS can be made up of several different types of compounds (including but not limited to): calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium chloride, and sulfides (which are often found in supply water).
*Elevated TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) can affect the taste and appearance of your water.
