It is an aromatic Hay, native to Asia and North America where it grows naturally in wetlands and savannahs with moist soil. Considered sacred by Native Americans, as it is used after a cleansing ritual to attract good spirits and vibrations. It is also used to braid and make baskets and containers.

Sweetgrass is very rich in antioxidants, making it ideal for adding to skin care products. Provides luminosity and shine, rejuvenates and nourishes the skin. It contains coumarin which gives it its sweet and tenacious aroma.

It has properties to soothe skin irritations, hydrate, relax and calm eczema, relieves bites and inflammations. It is used diluted with a carrier oil to relieve menstrual pain, abortion pain and childbirth pain.
