This beautiful Chinese ceramic figurine depicts a traditional healer in China,
Pottery like this is called "mud ware", figurines originally designed over 1000 years ago to decorate bonsai landscapes called Pen'Jing. They were created by hand from clay mud, thus earning their name. In later centuries, mud men (and rarely mud women) were used to decorate aquariums and planters. While small ones are still used this way, larger ones like this are usually table decorations, although they could certainly be used in a large planter.

The statue measures 9.5cm high, 19cm long and is in excellent condition, beautifully hand painted with fine detail.
