Original Antique Cast Iron Bedroom Fireplace

I purchased this beautiful decorative fireplace from a local reclamation company in the early 1990s. I had it professionally cleaned (stripped of some awful green paint!) and restored at that time and installed it in one of the bedrooms in my 1840s cottage.

A recent renovation saw the fireplace and chimney breast removed and so the fireplace is looking for a new home.

My cottage was rented out for some time and tenants broke the bars at the front of the grate - 2 of the 3 bars disappeared completely and the 3rd (the middle bar) was left broken in half. I have had this bar repaired but haven’t replaced the 2 missing bars.

The fireplace was only ever installed in my cottage for decorative purposes. It has the firebrick at the back but is missing the damper plate (and of course 2 of the 3 bars). The pictures form part of the description and if you have any questions please get in touch.

I have sought to price the fireplace fairly having regard to others I note are for sale. This fireplace is particularly pretty and I’m not prepared to give it away but will consider reasonable offers.

It’s listed as collection only.

On the back it’s measurements are given as 18” x 36” but with the fitting lugs either side it’s wider - max width 20”
